Why Your Network Matters More Than Your Equipment

A smart home is 100% dependent on the network. If the network is unstable, everything fails. The network is not part of the system — it IS the system.

Where Most Networks Fail

Most network problems come from three areas: bad design, poor installation, and incorrect configuration. Even expensive equipment performs terribly without proper engineering behind it.

1. Bad Design

Multiple TVs, streaming devices, cameras, and smart home gear all on a single flat network — everything slows down and becomes unreliable.

2. Bad Installation

Low-quality cabling, untested runs, poorly crimped connectors, no labelling. Access points installed behind TVs or inside cupboards instead of central ceiling positions — creating dead zones and weak coverage.

3. Incorrect Configuration

Everything on one network with no VLANs, no bandwidth management, IP conflicts, and poor WiFi channel planning. A CCTV system flooding the network kills streaming, automation, and internet performance.
